Leo x Earth Signs

Taurus x Leo - Earth + Light = Sunlight

The Good: As both men belong to the “Fixed” classification of signs, either is granted supreme personal power. Leo, being fire, is out in the open. Taurus, being earth, enjoys being out there as long as he doesn't have to deal with the frustrations of the spotlight all that often. This pair shares a similar agenda and lust for life. Taurus sees the perfect man in Leo: confident, silly, outgoing. He wants to be wanted. Leo wants to be worshiped (shut up, yes you do) so when a cute, guileless young thang like Taurus shows up at his doorstep, Leo's only words are: “Can I keep him?” Indeed, lion boy, you can. Together, these two will take the gay scene by storm. Taurus will handle all efforts “beneath” the lion boy in exchange for love and protection. In return, the Lion will keep his Taurus well-fed and well-sexed.

The Bad: Unfortunately, both being fixed signs, these two are also infamously stubborn. Both feel they are right ALL THE TIME. Naturally, fights are not easily resolved, especially with Leo so focused on coming out on top ALL THE TIME. Since both boys posses the jealousy of a sixteen-year-old school girl, they will make sure other men stay the fuck back from their guy. At the same time, they love checking out boys together provided they do it in a manner that doesn't compare the hotty in question to one of the boys in this coupling. In the realm of emotions, Leo doesn't understand why Taurus has feelings at seemingly inappropriate times. For Taurus, he doesn't understand how a person can be so damn weird about their feelings ALL THE TIME. Guys, it's okay to have emotions. Better to talk about them.

The Sexy: Dramatic and porny, with plenty of moans for good measure. Since both of these men are self-conscious about their looks and actions, either men will be thinking “Oh my gaw, he is so hot, how is he even doing this.” Guys, trust yourselves. Sex comes naturally for you. Leo likes a little rough play and Taurus likes all play. He also likes a bit of bite and roughness. Since Leos loved to be worshiped (and so do Tauruses) the subtext of this sexual relationship may often sound like a drunken compliment session: “You're hot! No, you're hot! No you're hotter! No, shut up, you're the hottest! OMNOMNOMNOM.”

Leo x Virgo - Light + Plants = Growth

The Good: Growth really is the name of the game here, because either of these men will need to learn from the other in order to make this relationship sprout. Virgo has strict specifications for who is lover will be, and some Virgo men even have idealized boyfriends in mind. Really, all a Virgo needs is someone who will share his values, even if they differ on opinions. Leos need someone who will be willing to give them affection as well as deal with their massive egos. So this is really the relationship romantic comedies are made from. Virgo likes a guy who is willing to stick to his values and actively seeks to improve the world. This is the Virgo M.O. after all. And Leo likes a guy who is so damned organized and who is already ahead of the game in terms of his education and career. If anything draws these two together, it will be intellectual stimuli.

The Bad: Nobody likes a critic, the least of which is Leo. Virgos are not afraid to call out someone on their bullshit. Leo hates this. He is willing to take advice from a source that he dearly trusts, but he often fins Virgo so incessantly critical. And Virgo finds Leo incorrigible and painfully stubborn. Virgo refuses to take orders from a tyrant, or anyone for that matter. Thing is, Leos are pussycats on the inside, and they only lash out if they feel they have been wronged. Virgo needs to be more sensitive and the Leo needs to be more appreciative.

The Sexy: The bedroom is a stage in which these two can act out the sexual aspects of their social roles. Virgo is usually sub, but he does love to be an usurper too and take command. Leos can be masochists and Virgos like to dish the pain, so this is a couple that should keep the aloe vera next to their nightstand.

Leo x Capricorn - Light + Metal = Glittering

The Good: Any relationship described as "glittering" can't be all that bad, right? You'd be right. Capricorn / Leo is one of those celebrity astrological pairings those who follow the stars (literal or otherwise) always hear about. In the same sex world, it is no different. Astrologer Michael Yawney calls this match that of "the celebrity and the star" in his Gay Astrology book, and the description is so apt that I must give him credit. Leo has the ambition, but not always the direction, and finding someone who WANTS him to succeed as well as roping him in and setting him on the right path is a dream. That dream comes in goat form with Capricorn, who delights palling around with someone who has the guts and the glamour. Here is someone who is a little bit over the top (which Capricorns all secretly love) while still being pragmatic.

The Bad: Leo's domineering nature is anathema to a self-made manager like Capricorn, who does not like being bossed around. Leos put a lot of energy into making sure the object of their affection knows they are aware of where they are in the relationship, but Capricorn, who is heavily guarded, is slow to make any overt gestures in return. This bothers Leo and makes him a nervous wreck. Capricorns also hate being treated as a door mat, and even though they are content to see their Leo shine in the spotlight, they like some credit once in awhile, damn it. Capricorns also cannot deal when Leo gets overly dramatic, as Capricorns are the picture of rationality and proper English restraint. Likewise, Leo hates that his love can sometimes act as such an emotionless robot. Being aware and respectful of each other's nature is the key to keeping this relationship alive.

The Sexy: Leo is delighted to find out that his gentleman in the street is a freak in the sheet(s). Capricorns, which channel the nature of the satyr, can really take a pounding. In bed, this is a very passionate and supremely charged relationship.

Leo x Air Signs

Been on a rule with updates lately. Hopefully soon I will get around to fixing the blog, building a better archive, and going back to tag things. I started this whole mess back in '11 and a lot of the mechanics of this blog are embarrassingly archaic!

---

Leo x Gemini - Light + Wind = Blur

The Good: Leos like a guy who is open about being into them, and Gemini crushes hard. There is a part of Gemini that secretly likes a man who will exert his power over him, and Leos love to exert. Leos who have gotten over themselves are usually sources of influence in gay social circles and have a kingdom of loyal friends. Gemini likes this because he likes to be among interesting people and gravitates to where the action is. There is a hint of a “daddy x son” relationship here, because Leo likes to spoil the Gemini guy. Geminis, for all their running around, love the idea of love and a Leo dude is very reciprocal and comforting to him.

The Bad: Obviously Leos like their lover's attention, but Gemini operates between two worlds, and when he isn't “present” a Leo can get restless. Leo's are also super territorial and Gemini's are super flirtatious, even when they aren't trying to be. This turns Leo from benevolent king into domineering dictator. A Gemini will not have it and is not afraid to complain openly about perceived mistreatment. Suddenly there is a badguy x goodguy dichotomy, and it's not a healthy one—mostly because from an outsider perspective, both Leo and Gemini are treating each other horribly. A more insecure Leo will feel as if his boyfriend doesn't care about him all because he's always off doing other things and in turn the Gemini will see his boyfriend as being selfish, self-centered, and thick-headed.

The Sexy: Leo men are boldly horny, and Gemini is the perfect plaything. Gemini likes a sex monster, and has no complaints about his Leo man's voracious appetite. Since Gemini's like roleplay and the idea of switching between domineering and submissive paradigms, an emotionally strong and powerful figure like Leo is right up his ally.

Leo x Libra - Light + Sky = Dawn

The Good: The Leo and Libra tango is quite the dastardly dance. A Libra and Leo will always get into a relationship because of two things: they both thought the other guy was hot. They fashion themselves as a power couple. At least in public. Behind closed doors, they are total dorks. Both may be closet nerds, and it's totally sweet that Libra has found another guy who shares in his love of old anime. These guys share a love of the finer thing as well as a love of bettering the world. Both of these dudes have always seen themselves as superheroes. But who is the Robin and who is the Bat Man? Well, Leo may rule the roost but secretly, Libra calls the shots.

The Bad: This tango may quickly turn into a game of manipulation. Leos, being "fixed" signs, are very content to preside over their court and be content that it not change. For a Libra, the scales quite often tip. This can lead to jealousy. Libras are wont to wander when they see something they like, and the Leo has every right to call him out on this BS. This also means that ground rules must be set. Libras are notorious at avoiding conflict, which also means avoiding problem solving. Leos hate to be the bad guy. In order to tackle an issue, both men must learn to suck it up and diplomatically assess their relationship flaws.

The Sexy: Libras often fall into a horrible habit of trying to overcompensate for their perceived insecurities, and so often will only take a dominant stance in the bedroom. With a Leo, this changes. Yes, Leos are good at taking it or dishing it, but with Libra they want him to feel comfortable experimenting with a passive role. Libra trusts Leo in this respect.

Leo x Aquarius - Light + Air = Rainbows

The Good: With Leo man's flare for the dramatic and an Aquarius dude's penchant for dancing to the beat of the oddest drum, this is a match that is built on two unique individuals finding someone in the world who jibes with their weird. Savy Leos have been burned by coming on too strong in the past, and so this lion will prowl most cautiously around an Aquarian of interest. No doubt though that the O.G. waterboy will be drawn to the Leo man's creativity and general sense of not giving the slightest of fucks. In social settings, they are the strange couple that everyone enjoys running into at parties. The Mr. and Mrs. Helena and Tim Burton of the gay world. And because each of them love to talk, Leo/Aquarius will never run dry in the conversation department.

The Bad: Ironically, it is their intrinsic uniqueness that will drive each other crazy. Leo watching his Aquarius man socialize at parties is like watching a train wreck in motion. Sometimes he is just TOO weird, or TOO drunk, or TOO awkward. Likewise, the Aquarius finds Leo an extreme of being too shy or being WAY too overconfident. These quirks will begin to chafe the other man. When it comes to affection, Leo wants to smother Aquarius in a blanket of love. But Aquarius is teflon and cannot stand being stifled with emotion. It will make him want to run the other way. A balance is needed here as both men operate at extremes.

The Sexy: Aquarius brings the strange to the bedroom, and Leo is willing to roll with it. Secretly he is also eager to be better at it than Aquarius. This is most pronounced in S/M roleplay. Leo takes to the dom role like a fish to water, and loves to make his Aquarius his slaveboy. But when the leather boot is on the other foot, Leo loves being put in his place by such a cold heel.

Leo x Fire Signs

First off, wanted to give a big, throbbing shot out to the Tumblr, Fuck Yeah Dudes Kissing! for supplying me with a bulk of these cute coupling photos.

Aries x Leo - Fire + Light = Heat

The Good: The soldier, whether he likes it or not, is often subservient to the desires of the king. Such is the case here. Aries generally follow Leo boys, usually without consequence. Aries appreciate Leo's ideas and joyful sense of living. They share a similar ideology (though when they don't they may often clash). When the Leo boy is down, the Aries friend may be the spark that gets him going again. And Leo is not afraid to point out the Aries occasional stupid decision making. Leos have a very strong sense of nobility, and this pomp and circumstance may often be difficult for the Aries to endure. In such a pairing, the Leo may end up being the more doting figure. The Aries is the badboy with the heart of gold who wants to shower his lover with affection, and since Leos love the attention, their eyes fill up with big, pink cartoon hearts at the very thought.

The Bad: ...Except when these two drama kings try to hog the spotlight. They need to learn that this town is big enough for the both of them and they should try and remember their dominance and authority is specific to a different skill set. For example, let the Aries boy plan out and send the invites to the party; let the Leo boy do the entertaining and glitzy stuff. Jealousy will also be a hurdle in this relationship, as either men are susceptible to this flaw for various reasons (mostly petty). These two boys need to remind themselves that they are two peas in a pod, cut from the same cloth, and a slew of other cliches basically stating that they are very similar to each other. Learn to share!

The Sexy: Dominance and submission serve as their repertoire. Aries boys love challenges, even the ones they lose. And losing to a Leo can be quite fun. It's a very steamy match-up, often with the over-the-top moaning and force of a porno film. Both of these men are “power” ____s, so it really doesn't matter who's taking it or giving it. Both men are enamored by the sheer intensity of each other.

Leo x Leo - Light + Light = Solar flare

The Good: But is there room for two kings of the jungle? That query may be up for debate. What attracts a Leo to another Leo, is that both men remind the other of...well...themselves. This is both a recipe for success and disaster. Because while Leo wants to share in his knowledge of X, Y, and Z with another mate, he doesn't what his man to be better at it than him. For a Leo x Leo relationship to work, both men need to be involved in different fields. Leo wants another king, but one who is most definitely ruling over another kingdom. No room for would-be-usurpers here, folks. If these two are different enough more than they are alike, this is a match with long lasting appeal.

The Bad: Being better at life is sort of the Leo model. Yes, Leos are TREMENDOUS humanitarians. They love to love. But they are also sensitive beings who need to feel as if their will is being respected. Leos can be incredibly jealous and usually don't like their partners to do anything that may betray this trust. Leos are typically down for the long-haul and are incredibly devoted, so anybody who threatens or abuses their trust will be exiled from their life. And remember, Leo is a drama king. Two Leos in a heated argument is conflagration of egos.

The Sexy: Oh but the sex? There's a place that needs no more improvement. Leos are masters of make-up sex, which can often be the stuff that holds the relationship together. Since Leos love the idea of being best at everything, they are usually quite versatile in their roles and can choose to swing either dom or sub at will. This is also a sexual relationship that promises an open minded approach to the bedroom from either man.

Leo x Sagittarius - Light + Electricity = Lightshow

The Good: Sagittarius men are bold and love the thrill of the hunt. The Lion does not like to be hunted, rather content to be predatory under his own terms. So when the Sagittarius makes his advances--as he is impatient--the Leo man may feel overwhelmed or that the Centaur is coming on way too strong way too fast. That is why this often such a rare match up, because it hardly ever gets goings. But if the Sagittarius is content to take his time, the Leo man is very receptive to someone so willing to show him affection. These two are great adventure partners. Leos like to talk, and Sagittariuses like to be told a good story. Simply put, the Sagittarius is fascinated by his Leo man, and a swagger that matches his own. You see, the Centaur is a character. He is a solitary power that rarely seeks to rule over others. The Leo is a noble and a king.

The Bad: Neither of these two men is particularly fond of being told what to do. Nobody pets Sagi in a corner. But likewise, Sagittarius can't expect Leo to bend to any of his whims, either. Leos feel betrayed when their partners do not listen to them. When it comes to jealousy, problems often arise. Leos have a bad habit of keeping their partners on short leashes (metaphorical or no) while flirting up a storm with any pretty prey that they see. Sagittarius love to flirt too, but are secretly fans of monogamy and honor. They do NOT suffer people with double standards. If this relationship is to work, they need to respect each other's power first and foremost.

The Sexy: For the first time, Sagittarius finds a man who can actually make him feel dominated. AND HE LOVES IT. Leo likes that Sagittarius is game for almost anything. These two feel like they are porn stars together and they love just how sexy their sex is.

Cancer x Water Signs

Cancer x Cancer - Emotions + Emotions = Instinct

The Good: Oftentimes the only solution for an emotional being is another emotional being. As one might deduce from the Cancerian way of latching on to those who are alike, this is one of the same-sign pairings that works. As both of them intimately understand the need to be needed, they treasure their romance and act to preserve their partnership. Though courtship may start slow as to not risk scaring away a "good thing," but soon they are diving head first into boyfriend land. Since both have a fairy-tale wish for romance (even if they won't admit to it) they are keen on making their fantasies into reality. They are always together (which can be problematic as you shall soon find out). Both understand each other's traumas, especially when it comes to family problems. They seek to heal each other.

The Bad: Unfortunately, too much time spent in a world of one's making can often lead to social stagnancy. These two guys need to learn to get out of the house once and awhile, and beyond that, learn to not be so attached to the other's hip all the time. There is such a thing as too much as a good thing, and even being around each other too often can lead to petty fights and squabbles. They also need to be able to trust the other partner, as both of them have been hurt (perhaps numerous times) by other boy's in the past.

The Sexy: The trust that they bring to the relationship just as easily makes its way to the bedroom. Both of them are open to taking on new roles and positions. Still, their sexual compatibility is at it's best when they are simply making love.

Cancer x Scorpio - Emotions + Ice = Fortitude

The Good: Both of these boys are born under signs with hard shells. But while Cancer seeks affection and protection, Scorpio is more of an impenetrable fortress. Cancer is defense, but Scorpio is retaliation if need be. For two men with hearts so guarded, it's a luxury to find someone else for whom they can open up to and feel safe doing so. Scorpio will generally take the more active approach, but the ball is really always in Cancer's court. They find that they connect when it comes to interests and bond over their emotional trials and tribulations. Word of warning: Scorpios do not like to play games (unless they are the players) and so Cancer should avoid his usual scuttling around the topic (in this case, relationship). At the same time, Scorpio must take care to be more sensitive to his partner.

The Bad: The reason for the above caveat is because Cancer and Scorpio have a great potential to damage each other, even when they just have flat out great potential. These signs love to feel out their feelings, but when both of them are as guarded as they are, the tango can diverge quickly from sexy to exhausting. They need to communicate what they want and where they are at. This is especially important to the Scorpio, because he likes to know what's going on at all times. Cancer would take care not to be wishy-washy. Even if it's negative news, most stable Scorpios would appreciate hard truths than convenient deceptions.

The Sex: You'd think this one would be simple: Scorpio = dom, Cancer = sub. But such is not always the case. These two actually prefer Romance-novel sex most of the time. Sure they can fit a kink in here or there, but for two men so committed to their emotions, the raw and beautiful power of sexuality is surely enough for them most of the time.

Cancer x Pisces - Emotions + Water = Thirst

The Good: The thirst has never been so real. From the moment they lay eyes (or other body parts) on each other, Cancer and Pisces know that they wanted this dude. Each of them has a magnetic draw, and the gay boys all know it. When they are drawn to each other, it's a sexy and dangerous time. Both of them are really into their emotions and personal indulgences. They are attracted to sexuality and the unspoken desire between two individuals. Even if they are in different places in life, the connection between these two is very strong.

The Bad: Ah, but here's the catch with these pieces of seafood. Cancer is in touch with his emotions but he's not always a hippie. With Pisces, there is always the sense of the anti-establishment with him, even if he's a wolf-in-Capitalist's clothing. Cancer can come out of his shell, but it is hard for Pisces to come out of his head. He needs to be able to communicate his needs better, especially when it comes to sex. Cancer of course gets moody when he has been mistreated, and thus the vicious cycle commences between the two.

The Sexy: They are each other's bad boy. If there's one thing it's healthy to be addicted to, it's sex with your significant other. Roleplay especially is an item of interest that may come into play in this pairing.
