"Ask a Question" Week

Coming back off of a several month hiatus (woo, final thesis done!) I want to get the blog going again.

What better way than answering your astrological questions for a week? This is the time to get specific, and if this entry does well, I might make it an ongoing series. At the end of the week I'll highlight some of the best questions and/or informative answers.

Would I be good with a ____? What's a rising sign? What's Chinese astrology like? What do the other planets mean? This is the time to ask!

  1. I'm a Sag/Capricorn cusp. Would I be good with a Taurus?

  2. Hi Ari! As I understand it, you lean more towards Capricorn, so therefore, yes you would be good with a Taurus, both being Earthsigns among your love of traditional relationships, finery, and a common social circle.

  3. I'm a Cancer Sun, Capricorn Moon, Scorpio Rising dating a Taurus Sun, Sagittarius Moon [I don't know his rising]. Is this a good match? I know Cancers and Tauruses are supposed to be a match, but when his Sag comes out, I sometimes don't know how to deal.

    1. A Sagittarius moon means that he'll have very finicky emotions for sure. He probably has a very flamboyant ego and may seem restless or clumsy with how he expresses his emotions. The fact that your moon is Capricorn, which often finds itself at odds with his Sagittarian neighbor, probably explains why a lot of your emotions may not synch up that well.

Fortunately, your sun signs meet eye-to-eye. What do you mean when you say "you don't know how to deal?" Is he being hurtful or just careless? Often times you need to have an open and friendly discussion about your feelings. Also look inward, what it is about the circumstances in which he becomes too much to handle that often repeat themselves? Find a pattern. I'd be happy to delve in more with you if you want in the next reply.

  4. I'm a Virgo, still trying to get out into the dating game. What sign would I feel more comfortable and open with, since I'm extremely shy and nervous at meeting new guys.

    1. Oh the adorable Virgoan shyness!!! When it comes to new dating, it's always safest to stick to your element or a complimentary element. For you, signs that might be "safe" would be fellow Earth signs: Taurus for stability and calm and a Capricorn for safety and a relaxed approach. I think another Virgo might be okay, but be careful as two Virgos can be nit-picky together.

Outside of Earth, Cancer and Pisces would also be fairly mellow and easy-going.

  5. What are some things one should be aware of when dating a Saggitarius?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Haha! Well isn't that a question?

Sagittarian gay men need to sew their wild oats from a young age. I like to call these the "fucking stupid" years. They need to experiment with what type of guy they like. Once they enter their twenties this tends to settle down, however their energetic spirit remains.

Sagittarian men like to make their partner part of their world, teaching them new things and introducing them to new ideas. They also love to travel. When they show love it is often extravagant. They are also honest and really bad at lying when it comes to serious issues (they are practical jokesters but they don't like to hurt people with mistruths).

They can be blunt, often not knowing where the line is, tactless, silly, emotionally turbulent (volcano effect) and impulsive. They are not inherently cruel. They need to constantly have things be different each time in the bedroom and they like lovers who are intense, passionate, and creative--not afraid to go to the limit. When dating a Saggitarius, be patient and communicative. They can handle the truth but they are secretly little children who can't stand cruelty or underhanded tactics. Dating one of my tribe is an adventure that not just anyone can handle.

    Signs that are often compatible:
    - Intelligent Aries
    - Considerate Leos
    - Non-Controlling Scorpios
    - Open-Minded and Extroverted Taureans
    - Decisive Libras

Other signs are good too, but these are usually the best at this age.

  7. Hi Max

Omg I feel like I have a billion questions for you, but I will just stick to one lol.

I'm the Pisces boy. As you've mentioned, I'm definitely the hopeless romantic. It's been about 8 months since I've been in a relationship but I'm wanting to get back into the dating seen pretty much. However, every time I start to get interested in someone, it seems like I find too many flaws and no one ever seems to understand or see the real me (I sound pretty hopeless for sure haha). I'm trying to find someone who can truly connect with me but I'm not certain where to start, and I'm feeling like I don't know if the problem is with the other guys or me. I know this is an extremely open ended question, but I don't really know how to put into words what I'm feeling/thinking lol. A little advice?

    1. Thank you, Michael

Pisces boys have a very distinct mindset in that they live inside their head. They often make their own form of reality. This naturally can alienate all but the most cerebral and emotionally resonate men.

Do you think that they don't see the "real you" because you yourself are still settling into that? Or, OR it could be that you aren't communicating it well enough to them. Sometimes verbal has to work in tandem with emotional cues. Men can be pretty thick-skulled you know :P

At the same time, also associate yourself with men that are more emotionally-inclined and chill. Try to connect with men who actually take time to tune out the world and tune into you, who will MAKE the effort to get to the inner-most parts of your spirit. And more importantly, if you feel comfortable, let them in, make it easy for them ;)

  8. Hi Max

I am a 23 year old Sagittarius with a pisces moon and Capricorn rising. I was wondering if you could help inform me on my best matches. Thus far i have only dated Aries, which is completely by chance not design. I find that i tend to butt heads with the guys in this relationship, mainly because i feel constricted. Any advice?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Sounds like you've been dating some pretty restricting Aries men! Usually they are more flexible than that. What, may I ask, did they restrict you on?

If such is the case, you may actually do well with another Sag guy. A laid-back Pisces might also suit you as well, or even a Gemini (if you want to walk on the wild side of that). Butting heads can be healthy too if it's done with civility. If that is the case, than depending on your levels of communication, an open-minded Aquarius (that's a redundant sentence if I ever did write one!).

    2. The restrictions have come in many varieties but for the most part always needing to know what im doing when im doing it and with whom. I tend to be a go with the flow hang out with whomever and just enjoy life kinda person and i find that it evokes a lot of jealousy in my Aries partners. I guess they don't seem to understand that I value all types of friends and would never sleep with another man unless it was together ;) haha.

Butting heads im used to as i have 2 Capricorns in my immediate family. I just find with Aries they're always right even when they're wrong and i usually just give up the fight because im disinterested.

The advice you gave is pretty helpful if things don't work out but any advice on how to deal with the Aries im currently seeing? We've been dating for 2 years so I'd hate to give up on it now.

  9. Hello Max,

First, I want to say that I love the way you write. I found your blog when I was searching for astrological compatibility and reading your entries crack me up. You are fuckin' hilarious mein. ;-)

Anyway, I've been waiting for you to finally get to Taurus compatibility so my question is on that. I'm a Taurus guy and I have my eye on a Cancer guy. It's a secret crush for now, but I'm planning on moving on it soon, because it seems that a Cancer born would be the best match for me at this point in my life. I did a lot, and I mean A LOT, of digging online and frankly I've been spooked by all the negative posts by women who got screwed over by straight Cancer men. There is virtually nothing online about Cancer men but bad stuff. Most of the issues seem to be cheating and leading on. As you very well know us Tauruses are BIG on commitment and monogamy, so now I'm kind of worried? I know that astrology is only part of the overall picture, but am I looking at the same thing with gay Cancer guys as all those women? What gives?

Thanks buddy and keep up the good work. I enjoy it a lot.

    1. Oh, I forgot...

I'm a Taurus Sun, Aries moon and Pisces rising

    2. HUH! That IS perplexing!

      First off, thank you!

Second, Cancer men CAN be douchey, but they aren't really the cheating type...usually. Gay Cancer men are actually VERY monogamous. I date two in a row. And a Cancer + Taurus match is one of the BEST for either of that sign, so I would definitely trust your instincts.

The only thing that would cause a Cancer to drift from you is if he doesn't feel you are a strong physical presence in his life.

Other than that I would say GO for it :D

      Delete
    3. One word of warning though...the leading on. If he makes more moves in your direction, it's probably safe. Only warning signs are if he speaks about his ex....more than frequently or if he JUST got out of a relationship. A hung-up Cancer is the worst kind of Cancer...
      ...Astrologically speaking that is.

  10. Hi Max,

Thanks for the reply mate. A couple of follow-up questions.

What do you mean by "strong physical presence"? And would he communicate that. Cancers are not great communicators. They expect you to be like them - psychic or intuitive. Well maybe the ones who are still maturing and are still learning about themselves. But would they tell you that there is a problem and would they talk it out with you if you ask?

Second, how many more moves are we talking about? Are you talking about him initiating MUCH more than you? Wanting to be with you more than you? Moving faster than you?

And lastly, should I tell him up front that I'm looking for a serious relationship and that I'm looking to settle down with "The One", or should I be a blank canvas for him and let him discover things slowly? I know that Cancers want to know all your secrets but keep theirs to themselves and use what they learn about you, sometimes in a bad way? I want to get to know the REAL him, not what they reflect back to me.

    Thanks Max

    1. By physical presence, I mean being there for him, in the physical moment which it sounds like you already want to be.

Depending on how far into the relationship you are with him, I wouldn't come on TOO strong just yet. At the same time, I think the blank slate approach might be best.

It's hard to tell what is on a Cancer's mind, especially because they can tend to get moody without reason :/

    2. Thanks mate. I know, I pretty much knew I need to go slow and see how fast he is moving towards me, if at all and have him find out things about me slowly. BUT, things just got a little more complicated. I found out today from someone that his mother died 2 months ago. So, now I have to wait for a while, probably several months, before I can approach him. I might have to wait 'til the end of this year or longer. I feel terrible for him. I'm sure he is hurting like mad.

At any rate. Thanks again Max. Keep doing what you do. I'll be checking in periodically.

  11. Hey max! I'm a Taurus in high school and since I'm in high school, dating is obviously hard. But there is this cancer guy that I've liked for a long time now and I'm pretty sure hes gay. I always see him looking at me across the halls, he started small talk with me a couple times and actually messaged me online before. Even though i have all those signs, he won't admit to being gay or even speak of it. Everytime a friend asks him, he gets defensive and angry! What to do?

    1. Hello my young Taurean!

Regardless of someone's sign, coming to terms with one's sexuality, especially during the difficult high school period, can be very difficult. Your crush may still be coming to terms with that, which...as much as it sucks...it's hard to force them to accept their sexuality just like that. And if he's a Cancer, he'll be very closely guarded about it...perhaps his mother's influence or her beliefs may have something to do with it.

I would wait for him to make the first move, if any. And be warned...if he's not out of the closet yet, he may not know how to handle a gay relationship at first. It could be a lot to deal with.

    1. That is SO MUCH CENTAUR in your chart, my goodness. Now, Libra's and Sagittarians often get along quite well, but the fact that he's a Capricorn could be a little tricky. In my personal observations, Capricorn men and Sagittarius men don't end up as very compatible matches, being so opposed to each other symbolically as they are. And considering you have so much Sag in your chart, it could be a little chaotic. That said, some more info on his personality might be helpful. Some Capricorns do synch up.

  15. How does a 15 yr old intro/extrovert Cancer boy find someone? As you know, talking to strangers and letting people in is a challenge for us...

Also, any tips f saying hapoy and positive? I just moved to a different country so i'm away from my support system although social media does help, it doesn't make up for the physical needs part. I'm making a lot of friends because of my loud and unique personality but I'd prefer to have a few SOLID people I can always go to for "home" than be the popular kid always in the spotlight ya know?
